Day 7 - USA vs. England
We just watched the documentary of the 1980's US Hockey team upsetting the Soviets and we're feeling ready to go. But now we play the waiting game...it's 11am and we leave for the field at 2:15. It's a lot of time to manage our nerves and not get too spent before the game. It'll be a battle today, especially in the forwards. We're ready to play hard and bring it.
The US has the blessing of having amazing fans. Friends and family have flown in from everywhere. Claudia and Annie both have an entourage and a lot of the NYRC players have made the trip to Edmonton and arrived last night. All day we've been getting phone calls and emails wishing us luck. Having such supportive friends, family, and teammates make a huge difference and we thank you profusely!!!!!
Kickoff is 5pm our time and is being shown live on the internet, so for a few bucks you can see the action!! I'll be on the sidelines as a reserve, but our 15 starters will be coming out strong and setting the tone for the match. Go USA!!

now that neither italy nor germany takes part, i can spread my fandom a bit wider ;-)
because i am scattered and have misplaced way hot's e-mail address, this is my only way of congratulating you and wishing you the best of luck in this truly awesome adventure! I am waching the games online from all the way over here in good ole euro-land... :-)
